Ok place to meet and have a coffee, which I had to send back as it was only warm, need to ask for it hot as the temperature is set apparently. Cake was disappointing

We went in on Monday bank holiday in August for Eat Out to help out. They were not that busy yet service was slow. They had run out of a lot of things including, but not limited to, halloumi fries, nachos, chocolate gateau etc. The burgers didn't have any salad with them and were dry and taste less. The cheese took some hunting down but was present. It appeared to be a few bits of grated cheese melted on top of the burger. Maybe they were running out of that too. The servers were friendly and polite. It was my first time at The Escapologist and it will most likely be my last. I wouldn't pay full price for the burger and chips that I was served.
Took my girls for tea on monday evening. The food was absolutely gorgeous and the service we received from the manager was fabulous! With the help of the governments eat out to help out scheme we all rolled out completely stuffed all with food babies for a grand total of 20. Thank you. I do wish however you'd kept all the old steam punk fittings and chairs etc that used to give your bar that quirky edge.
I had heard lots of good thing about the Escapologist but had never been until I was invited for a wedding do. While speaking to the bride I found that it was their first ever wedding do they had put on, and I honestly couldn't believe her and was very impressed! The two main areas had been set out with lights, decorations and other bits to make it seem very cozy and fun, which created a very nice atmosphere for the evening. They had put food on for the guests, all of which was delicious, and they had also developed signature cocktails for the bride and groom that the guests could order, something I've never come across before at a wedding, definitely a touch that made the evening extra special! All of the effort that had gone into the evening showed that the staff really cared about the guests, tot he wedding, and made the night feel really special. On the commitment to the customers alone I would recommend this place, it was brilliant, and definitely worth a visit!
Brilliant, good fun and team building exercise, atmosphere was nice, staff were friendly. Food was good to. Definitely do it again.
