The HR Arturo is a time waster, unprofessional, unethical individual , I had applied, we spoke on the phone, he had scheduled me for an appointment and at the time of the actual interview he kept moving the date, I would call and as an unprofessional individual he would never answer, put somebody else to answer the call, avoid me at any cost. And then finally 3 months later he sent an email that he decided to go another route with another applicant which I have no problem with but at least be gutsy enough and professional to answer the phone and talk communicate like a man.

Nothing to do with the care of Residents nor the facility itself. However, basted on MY employment at The Heights of Alamo for a year and a half I am very disappointed in how the administration takes on the process of cutting hours for staff members. To the point that staff are forced to look for another job or set aside for when "the budget" increases then they can come back to work. The lack of communication afterwards is non existent! The Heights of Alamo provides excellent care service for the residents, but the appreciation they have for employees is very disappointing. I hope the administration takes this in consideration and maybe their retention of new hires would increase! The employees do so much for the community, especially during the pandemic, that administration should do more as well.
All the staff here have a great attitude....people enjoy coming to work, you can see it in their faces. Especially Sam from therapy he is always in a good mood. The therapy here is tops from what I've seen in the Rio grande Valley, I have been to different rehabs before, McAllen, Edinburg, nothing beats here. The housekeeping keeps the place looking really clean. I am so much stronger than I was before and about ready to go home. If ever I need therapy in the future I will definitely come to the Heights again.
So sad to have to leave this review but my grandma was admitted here in April & sadly passed away in May at the hospital (passing had nothing to do with the facility). But there are 2 items from the bag we packed her that were NEVER returned to us, both having very personal & sentimental value. We called multiple times, have given the description of both items multiple times & they have told us they would call us back & let us know but they never did. I find it extremely disrespectful that those 2 items haven't been returned especially at this difficult time of mourning. not sure if they trashed them or misplaced them (which is wrong because those items aren't theirs to do so). We just want those 2 items back more than anything, one of those items was a sweater that was so loved by her, she would wear it everyday & every night to sleep. It felt like home to her, which is why we packed it in the first place. It's been almost 2 months, we want her stuff back.
as paramedic I walk through alot of these rehabilitation centers. This one is one of the best in the area. The staff is awesome and they'll do their best for its residents no matter what. It's a very well managed facility.
Left my Mom in this Nursing Home, it's been a few months now. They've taken very good care of her. The nurses and CNA are wonderful in the afternoons. I've been able to get updates on my mother at the drop of a hat. Great ppl. She's been in rehab and has progressed very much. Thanks Heights of Alamo.
A loved one was diagnosed with scabies here at the facility. Turns out there’s an outbreak there and no one knows who
I love my job! I really am happy working here at "The Heights of Alamo" I enjoy the working of the team. Residents & and resident families being so involved in our activity program. My home away from home!
