This pub is a real hit and miss. We want to use it more but have been in various occasions for food and they are not serving. This is frustrating as we want a nice reliable food location locally. I appreciate it’s often due to health issues but never less a real shame. Staff always friendly and polite. Food is generally really good but on last visit was disappointing.

Went to this pub for the first time last night and I was really impressed. Walk in the door and to the right you've got the proper pub atmosphere where you'd sit as a local for a pint or two. If you go to the right, there is a nice seating area with a bar, really nicely decorated in fresh lime green. A comfortable area to sit whilst waiting for your meal to be ready. There is a room of of here with a pool table and then off that the beautiful conservatory. Really well decorated in pale green and shabby chic. There is a wide selection of drinks, spirits, wines, ales. And the food was lovely. Really good portion sizes not too much not too little. All came out piping hot. Overall really impressed, would highly recommend :)

Caught up with friends on a Saturday afternoon. Quiet early on but picked up later on. Reasonably priced drinks. Has Sky &BT sports.

Several times we have enquired whether the pub is serving food and have been told No because Paula is ill. On one occasion they said “No we are not serving food today as Paula has diarrhoea and cannot be near food” it was a bit too much information but even so maybe a relief chef would allow consistency. We went another time as a big group of 8 and table was booked for 7:30 but didn’t actually sit down until 8:30 and we had children. When food was served coleslaw was missing and steak knife was missing. The conservatory area was cold I recall on another occasion when we had a roast there which made food go cold quick. It’s not a place I could rely on whole heartedly for food because in my experience it has been so unpredictable.

Quite simple Dave I pressed incorrect button, food was superb, atmosphere great, draught beer very good, only disappointing point I usually only drink New Zealand wine, l prefer Marlborough wine, we live approximately 20 miles away and as family members are moving into Southburgh village we will definitely be coming back. Clean but today very quiet. Mostly local beer. Large menu choice, although not serving food at the time of our visit.
