Employees are wonderful people. Prices are alittle But I love the Stevenson brand of acrylics & so far only the Painted Turtle carries it. Normally they have a large variety of colors to choose from, but with this pandemic, art/crafts supplies are short supplied everywhere. The Painted Turtle were short on supplies, in which I wish they would have told me when I called before spending 48.xx on a cab to get there.

They have a good selection if you are an in need of quality materials, and they are not a big box store. But I got the impression that they expect a certain type of customer. If so that is really too bad.
Whenever I am in Thunder Bay I have to pop in to The Painted Turtle. It is a mixture of gallery and art supply store. The supplies are great quality, good brands and decent selection for the size of store. The gallery features local artists at prices that are a steal. You get great art that represents the area. The wonderful staff are willing to chat about the supplies and their work which also hangs in the gallery section. For any artist, this is a 'must go'.

Great service, extremely knowledgeable and helpful . I was looking for a Christmas gift and Lorraine helped me find the perfect items all within my budget.
