I can not speak more highly of this surgery. I had to move to my mothers heavily pregnant pre Covid restrictions. This meant registering at a new GP to receive maternity care locally. All the receptionists were so friendly and helpful over the phone. I had some minor complications in later pregnancy where both GP’s went above and beyond to help me and then later did the same for my son. They have managed the Covid restrictions impeccably and always made us feel safe. The practice nurse has given my son his immunisations and was always so friendly and kind. I will be very sad to be leaving them when I finally return home.
Despite trying to make appointments on at least two occasions, I was informed that I would need to go to Tiverton minor injuries unit to be seen by a GP on routa. When I questioned why this should be as, there were two GP's already in Bampton Surgery; I was informed that the surgery only dealt with ongoing treatments. This is outrageous, the doctors should be seeing there patients and not pushing them on to tiverton. Otherwise, what is the purpose of having a local GP Surgery, if they won't see you
Im a patient here and I consider myself very lucky. This Doctors surgery and all the Doctors and staff that work here are excellent.
Reception staff are always very polite and efficient, to the extent that the system allows them to be. I have visited most of the excellent doctors in this practice, and will summarise their differing approaches below: Dr Sherwin - Gives Reassurance. Dr Backhouse - Gives Medicines. Dr Prust - Balance of Above.
