A typical "up north" hotel, but right on the water and very friendly owners. Nothing fancy. They have started updating, and will probably be a on-going process. Husband built the place in the 60's and they continue to operate it. Not sure if every room has it, but the bathroom is definitely an original. A solid choice for basic accommodations, at a good price.

Great food! Try the 'sconnie pizza. A pound of brats, beer cheese sauce, motz and cheddar. Unique, and tasty.

Great location overlooking the river. Close to everything. There's also a bar & grill next door. Very clean rooms.

Clean, but that's about it. Towels are hodgepodge, like whatever they could find at a rummage sale. Keys and locks are marginal. Bedding had rips in it. But it was clean and comfortable and convenient.

Only one waitress,, but she worked her rear off as busy as it was that day. She suggested tuna steak with dill sauce, also very good, cost12-13total. Had a 1 man band that was pretty good also. Wednesday burger night is my favorite though, excellent 1/2 price burgers.

I didn't stay in a room, but I did have deep fried cheese curds for the first time there! I sat on the outdoor patio on the bank of the Wisconsin River and listened to live music. One of the loveliest evenings I had on my trek. If the rooms are as charming as the outside is, I'm sure it's worth a stay. If you're not spending the night, at least have a drink outside, it's a beautiful setting.
