I met Shawn and we discussed my project - install three cabinets which required a half wall be built, replace counter tops and replace back splash - no electrical and no plumbing. He told me it would take 4 days to complete. I thought that wasn't long enough so I figured a few weeks maybe. The project took 4.5 months, they showed up a day late to begin the project and the counter tops were done so poorly the fist time they had to be redone, and if I had not been home to discuss this with them they would have tried to piecemeal it together. This left me with no kitchen at all for 10 days. The schulter for the backsplash wasn't installed correctly - it was glued on after the fact because he didn't measure correctly and brought the wrong size. Instead of waiting to complete it properly they glued it on afterwards. He also showed up late (by 6 hours) to complete work he said he would do. I had to finish sanding and smoothing out the wall, at which I am no expert so it doesn't look the best. One of his employees stole money from me, used my cooking knifes for construction work. Truly the list goes on. I was forced to live in utter chaos for nearly 5 months. If you're looking for a contractor, do not choose Top Shelf Kitchens. I've included a few photos for reference.

We met the co-owner(Shawn) at the Home and Garden show in Calgary this year and then arranged a follow-up visit at his shop. Shawn demonstrated that he was very knowledgeable about countertops , tiling and kitchen cabinets. He has a strong network of suppliers and his staff are very competent. In addition his pricing was reasonable and the quality of the work performed was excellent. We were very pleased with all aspects of the work performed and the timing in which the project was completed. We would highly recommend using Shawn's company to perform any kitchen or bathroom project that you were undertaking. Sincerely Brian F
After extreme delays that lasted months and being very patient, we still barely got proper service. Workers missed appointments, causing inconvenience. (One worker, R****, even offered under-the-table services to complete the floor.) Eventually, we hired another contractor to finish the work and make corrections to completed work. It would be wise to check the local BBB for any business's rating before hiring.
I have dealt with Shawn a number of times and he has always allowed me ample time to browse available catalogs etc. on multiple occasions he has quoted me prices for kitchen items outside of the norm including unfinished wood furniture. If you are looking for a specific style of wooden chair or eating bar height stool Top Shelf Kitchens has the ability to show lots of options from various manufacturers. As well within their large workshop they have a full paint booth and such unfinished products are be finished however you may choose. I would recommend this group to any that ask and I have referred a number of individuals already. They have a central location that is easy enough to get to that I have visited multiple times. The display room is open and has a great selection of product examples to look at and try. The displays are made in house so you can get a feel of the high quality work that the Top Shelf Kitchens team does. I am sure if you were to reach out to the Top Shelf team you would find they are very courteous and helpful and would be more than willing to spend the time needed to answer any questions you have and to make you comfortable with your kitchen decisions. If you are a tool geek like me ask Shawn to see the workshop as they have some high end equipment their you just wont find in a garage workshop.
I didn't even have time to get to the front door and I was asked to move my truck. There was at least 6 available spots right next to me. Perhaps he thought I was going to to pizza place around the corner but regardless it was pretty rude.
My experience with this company is excellent. Honest! Hardworking and great service
