It’s so nice to see many cute dogs having fun there. It is not a big off leash dog park but I think it’s good enough for small and big dogs to play around with each other while their owners observe.

This message is to the owners of some of the dogs that enjoy this park. Please remember that this Off-Leash park is a publicly funded property. It is not the personal property of a few who intimidate other dog owners. Earlier today (October 23, 2020) there was a really ugly incident which involved the self appointed dog police force. Yes...there are dog owners who present themselves as a legal authority to approve who can use the off leash park. The self appointed police force yell at other dog owners, use their cell phones to record activities and send text messages to the person who acts as the city elected representative of this public park. This person knows who they are and in this review I am pursuing this issue with the Parks Supervisor for Allan Gardens. In addition, will be contacting city council to file a formal complaint. The behaviours of these dog owners is outrageous and the fact that a group of them engaged in intimidation and harrassment today...well....it is disgusting! The person who was targeted by a group of much younger dog owners was a man in his 70s....recovering from brain surgery. This group should be ashamed of themselves but that will never happen. They have 0 insight into their absurd behaviour and sense of entitlement. In this matter, I stepped in and attempted to stop the verbal abuse. No success on that front....had to call the police to file a report. As luck would have it, I was able to get assistance from 2 officers on bikes. Took them to the under 20lb. section and pointed out the aggressors. And the VICTIM. And then I left for good.....never to return. The message should be clear....behaviour that is nasty and mean spirited is ugly. This group is ugly...and could learn about social norms from their own dogs. One of the worst experiences of my life....in these trying times we should be making an effort to show understanding and compassion. How did this lovely little park become so TOXIC?
