Tried out this place for the first time, which recently opened I believe. Amazing food, one of the best Hakka Chinese food u have had in Toronto The dishes we tried out were Chilli fish, Chilli Chicken gravy, Chicken Mancurian noodles and egg fried rice. All of them were very tasty, I would totally recommend and I am for sure gonna go to this fingerlicking good place again to try out more dishes. It is conveniently located at the Vibrant Annex area on bloor just near bathurst subway station. I have also published it on my gta.fingerlickingspots page on Instagram. Follow to know more

Great food. The chilli chicken was amazing. Value for money. Great service even for a take away.

This place is an absolute gem. The interior decor is beautiful, the layout is spacious and private (the tables cascade up flights of stairs toward a more secluded area at the back section of the restaurant), and the dry chili fish deserves to be a Toronto classic. I'll admit that I'm not deeply versed in Hakka, but only because I'm not in the habit of eating the greasy, overly sugary fare that is usually served at Hakka restaurants in Toronto. Chopstick on Bloor makes Hakka that tastes like exceptional, real food bursting with well-balanced, natural flavours. For whatever reason, they always seem to be playing top-notch salsa music, which always makes me smile - why wouldn't you play salsa music at a restaurant serving the Indian version of Chinese food, amiright? I tried this place for the first time last week and I've been back twice for takeout since. Can't get enough. This may be selfish, but if you've read my review to this point, please just buy food here. This is one restaurant I'll be truly sad to see leave the Annex. Welcome to the neighbourhood, Chopstick!

It is one of those places with delicious food but pathetic service. Every time (except the first time), I order something from this restaurant, the delivered items were not accurate. For example: If I order Veg/Tofu Manchurian, they would (always) send Chicken Manchurian. If I placed two orders and canceled the first one, they would cancel both of them. Often, they would make delivery guys wait for long as they did not prepare the food in timely fashion. As a result, they refuse to deliver. Also, they assume that no one ever needs cutlery with the food. I will never eat from this place again but the food is delicious.

Perhaps this is the way Hakka style sweet & sour chicken is supposed to be like but my dish tasted like soggy fried chicken drenched in ketchup sauce/soup. The rice that it came with was also visibly a day or two old. There were parts of the rice that were salty and I dont know why. I read that other dishes are good though..

Disgrace to Hakka cuisine. I'm a huge fan of Hakka food but will never go back again and will never recommend this place to anyone I care for. Dirty place. Hair in food. Bad service from the guy in the kitchen. They also seem to use very cheap ingredients I threw away whatever food I bought from there. Wasted right away but saved in the long run as I will take my elsewhere where I feel safer eating the food.

I have been here twice now. The food was fairly good, not great. The prices are reasonable. However, the service is awful. The last time I was here I attended with two friends. Our meals were brought out to us individually, and about 5-10 minutes apart. I was the last to get served in contrast to my friend who received his meal 15 minutes before mine. *Note to kitchen...meals should be served all at once.

I love the Annex. It will always have a special place in my heart for many reasons. That being said I was more than surprised when I found this place. I was genuinely pleased what I assumed was a take out restaurant turned out to be a very spacious restaurant. I was the only customer inside the restaurant upon arrival. Wow, the food was great ordered the sweet and sour chicken and fried rice. I wanted to play it safe for my first time. My expectations were over meet. The sweet and sour sauce is divine! I would love to know what they use and if I could buy a bottle of it. Mixed with the speciality fried rice (made spicy) it was everything I wanted. Bonus it was NOT a pool of greese which is so common to find in the area. I was a little disappointed with the service towards to end, which would of made this a three star. However that SAUCE bumped it up. I’m still thinking about hours later. Will come back and try more things on the menu.
