The East York Housing Help Centre absolutely saved my life. Nikki Haripersaud, was able to help me even though I had delayed asking for help long after I should have. Not only was she able to help me keep my residence, but she did it blindingly fast and efficiently. I am truly amazed and awestruck at how lucky I am to have this incredible centre and people like her available to me. I certainly don't deserve it, and I would be dead right now if it wasn't for this centre and the work they do. God bless this place, and thank you!!!

They helped with housing connections application but that's it...after that I was on my own ...the people that answer the phones are rude ...i asked to speak to a housing counselor and she rudely said there no counselors here I get that but i was misinformed about what to call them...anyways the point is they do nothing but pretend they can help all they help is with applications and go through the motions ...i could do what they do and do it myself I thought they were a agency that helps set people up with housing and getting them into affordable housing that's far from the truth ...beware of this place don't recommend it

Terrible service. The answering machine is barely audible. The staff return calls one to two weeks after you leave a message. Their suggestions of affordable housing are appalling and way beyond what anyone on a fixed income can afford. The staff don't seem to understand what a housing crisis is and seem completely disinterested in their jobs. You can do a more thorough housing search on your own.

I found the staff pleasant and helpful. There was coffee too.

The manager called back. She offered their assistance in return of cancelling my previous appointments without a notice. I contacted the agency by end of August or beginning of September to apply for OESP as I couldn't apply online, the appointment was for 2 weeks later and by the nature of the conversation I was expecting a quick and excellent service but on the day of the appointment, they just cancelled few hours before and rescheduled for 2 weeks later. I went personally hoping that there maybe some way to meet them sooner but the lady who was responsible for taking OESP clients said they cannot accommodate any sooner days and said I should find another agency if I am not happy of the speed of their service! By the second appointment which was after more than a month of initial communication, I walked in and there they told me that the worker is on sick-leave for the second time?! I left a complaint for the manager and she called back the week after. The manager's offer seemed sincere but I waited more than a month and the employees in general didn't provide a good customer service.
