My pup had a great experience at this dog park. This park is great for large and small dogs. Smaller dogs have their own area. Only negative thing i have to say is about another puppy owner who kept trying to interfere with the puppy play. I believe she needs to read a book on how puppies/dogs interact and play with each other.
The park itself is beautiful and of a moderate size. The patrons of this park ruin it. The people who come here often bring ill-mannered dogs and/or poorly socialized dogs they can't physically or mentally control. They bring large dogs who hop into the small dog paddock, harass the small dogs, and cannot be called back. Other patrons of this park bring children who are poorly behaved. Children running and playing with their own dog/the dogs in general is great; arbitrarily and clumsily zooming around like you're on school grounds during recess is not. These children also seem to have no recall with their parents or respect for boundaries of shy dogs. There are plenty of places to allow your child to run like a banshee and the dog park is not one of them. I frequent many dog parks across Toronto, and this is the ONLY park I've had a problem. I'm not going to waste any more time coming here and hoping, "maybe this time it will be fine", when it never is.
Woof arf bark bark worf borf! Bwoof awoo bork bjork! Blarf!
Nice dog park with a big area for larger breed dogs and a small area for small breeds. Only complaint would be on the weekend it gets quite crowded in the centre of the dog park to which the space should be allocated for the dogs to run, chase a ball or play amongst themselves but its a little difficult when you have more people than dogs filling the area. Alot of the people are too busy having conversations sipping on starbucks or texting and not paying attention to what their dogs are doing. Today I had a small dog jumping all over myself and my wife with dirty paws and the owner was nowhere to be found (I know it's not the dogs fault) also if you have a female dog and it is in heat, please do not bring it to the dog park as it riles up the male dogs.
Nice area to bring your puppy or grown dogs to mingle with other doggies. To the guy in the review who said too many people without masks.. It's outdoors lol where is the by law mandating makes outdoors? Don't be paranoid.
Every day I saw lots of dog's, definitely good for the dog. Every weekdays I walked through Ramsden park, whenever I saw a dog without leash my heartbeat increase, it's terrifying I was bitten when I was a child. I hope one person ( dog owner) reads and spread the words.
