Riverdale Park during spring, summer, fall can be one of the most peaceful relaxing areas of Cabbagetown. Not the largest of any parks but it's age of tree canopy makes it one of the nicest areas to just walk through, stop and enjoy one of the many benches. We would spend many days picking out takeout and relaxing with breakfast or lunch in the park and then a walk around the area. Evenings included a walk with our dog after dinner through Riverdale Park. Many families enjoy the local water pad to cool off in the summer. The local Farmers market is held every week on Tuesday at the entrance where fresh vegetables and specialties are sold like home made honey. The gardens are all well kept each years and an added attraction to the entrance. Not much parking available but many come into the park area on foot or bikes. Great spot for children and families. To the North of the park is Toronto Necropolis Cemetery. To the South is Riverdale Farm and also the entrance to Riverdale Park West. You can view much of the Farm through park fences. Looking over towards Riverdale Park East much of that area can be seen and amazing sunsets. Towards the Riverdale Farm you can take one of three trails that wind down through areas that used to be the Historic Riverdale Zoo from the 1800's to 1974.

Nice place, not too crowded. Good for hiking and sports. There is a small farm with cows in it. Nice football court

Great place to bring your dog. Tons of space to run and lots of other dogs at peak times. I wish it was closer to my house so I could go more often.

Well, just finished walking with my golden retriever through the zoo area when a Parks employee advised No Dogs allowed!!! Screaming kids in the wading pool area with their parents glued to their phone. Not a great spot for a relaxing afternoon. The dogs are the best behaves so far.
