Views from Waterworks Beach are simply breath taking. Very quiet place and not many even give the area a second thought. Any day of the week you may see the occasional dog walker or even a photographer. But if you head east from Kew Balmy Beach and then the back of RC Harris Water Treatment plant you'll find a very untraveled beach. Looking east towards areas of Scarborough Bluffs and areas not seen much. Silver Birch Beach gets it's name from Silver Birch Avenue in the beaches that ends at this area.

This is NOT Silver Birch Beach. This is the RC Harris Waterworks Beach. One of many beaches in The Beaches neighborhood.
The picture above is not Silverbirch beach. That's at Silverbirch Ave. This is the Waterworks beach. As you can see in the back ground is the R.C. Harris filtration plant. It was named the Waterworks as the head of the Waterworks at that time was R.C. Harris. We as kids in the 50's always called it the waterworks.
Hidden gem, next to a water processing plant, so parking you have to look for. But it is worth the visit. The view is very nice and it is very quiet with not too many people around.
Beautiful beach spot away from the hustle and bustle of Woodbine beach. Watch out for the poison ivy in the bushes. Though technically dogs are not allowed off leash, this beach tends to be dog friendly.
