One of the best hostels I've stayed at. Very warm staff. Very clean. Excellent kitchen and media room. Very reasonable price and a great central location in Toronto just south of Chinatown.

Cool house with a great location. Attracts some really weird guests though. You definitely don't feel comfortable all the time because there are men in their late 40s who stay for weeks at a time. There are bedbugs and the ceiling in the ladies dorm was leaking water. Even so, great value with friendly staff.
My husband & I love it . The girls are fantastic ,,, all great staff . Fabulous location . Clean , big rooms & all areas actually . Computer access & huge kitchen . Met really cool people here . We both highly recommend this place . Excellent experience!!!!

Highly recommend! Lovely clean and neat accommodations. Really cool people and friendly staff. Great location right in the heart of downtown Toronto. Very happy to have stayed there and would do it again next time.
While they might have reasonable service in normal conditions, they are willing to act completely predatory during mass public health crisis' and won't offer refunds to clients who's travel has had to be cancelled in support of Federal and Provincial guidelines and under states of emergency. As a small business owner I'm offering full refunds to clients who's projects have been cancelled yet The Clarence Park has no such morals if you didn't pick a flexible room option. That's unfathomable and inexcusable! Highly recommend no one ever bothers renting from you if you don't quickly change your policies to be in line with basic public health and human ethics during a pandemic!
It was by far the worst experience of hostel of my whole life (and trust me Ive traveled around the world and this was in my own country). I rented out for 3 night and on the first night I wanted to leave in the middle of the night. First the “window” was the emergency exit door, and it wasnt isolated. Second the heater wasnt working and nobody was at the front desk or answering the phone (at 10pm). Room isnt isolated so you can hear everything and everyone. Thirdly there was dust and spider web in every corner. This place was clearly not cleaned for a while. This is not okay, I am rarely leaving comments but I hope it will make you change your mind and go to a better place out in town.
