After a long day on the road, my Merry group of travellers had been turned away from not only Lidl but Carrefour AND the Jesuit Monks next door, we happened upon the pleasant meadows of the grounds of the Government of Cantabria’s Animal Selection and Reproduction Centre and Embryonic Transplantation Unit (GCASRCETU). These grounds were PREFECT for hammocking! Entrance is simple with a clearly unmarked gap in the fence and evenly spaced trees. The trees were nicely clumped sufficiently that the sounds of the animals being slaughtered didn’t scare us too much. The canopy of was ample to ward off the morning rain. One thing to change for next time - there were many insects and one of my compatriots was bitten by spiders. I’d recommend a decoy wasp next such as the Waspinator which can be found on deck 7 of Baie de Sein Brittany Ferry to Portsmouth! Our wake up call was prompt and slightly unsettling as you would expect, in keeping with the atmosphere of the GCASRCETU. Manuel, quick on his feet with a wild, burning look in his eye and hair to his elbows was professional and thorough. He gave us ample time and sufficient instruction to evacuate the premises whilst indicating that our stay was highly illegal and posed a danger to us and the animal human hybrids that he loves so dearly! We were sad to turn down his offer of an immediate shower. Thanks for skin codes, can’t remember when or why we received but are sure they were important... See you for our next visit!
