My friend and I went for Saturday brunch. I arrived just in time to be seated at a table for two before a line formed. Fish tacos special was just ok. The grilled fish was more more crispy than grilled. If not for the two corn kernels the jicama corn relish wasn’t discernible and the lettuce is unnecessary. I actually reread the menu description after I saw them. My friend said the chicken tacos were good, and from a previous visit I remember liking them also. I had a regular margarita and my friend a strawberry. Drinks were good. Staff was friendly but they didn’t check in since they were busy and trying to turn over the tables quickly. The disposable picnic cups, trays, utensils etc is supposedly due to Covid but other restaurants mange. At least the drinks are in actual glasses. I would go back but I wouldn’t go out of my way.

It pains me to write this but my experience yesterday was outrageous. My wife and I went there around 4pm. We were seated in one of the enclosed areas on the university side. Most rooms that I could see have one table only and a heater right above. The room we were seated in had two tables right next to each other. When the server showed us to the room I asked him if they would seat another party next to us and he said no we only seat one party per room. If they had said that they would seat someone right next to us I wouldn't have argued on the legalities, I would just leave. No biggie. We ordered a couple of drinks and some food. 30minutes later I got up to go to the restroom and on my way there I asked the server for the check. On my way back I saw my wife standing on the sidewalk holding the check and my coat. I asked her what happened and she said that they sat two people right next to us. I approached the manager and asked him why are they seating another party in a tiny enclosed room next to us. His response is what drove me nuts. He basically said that whoever told me that they would not seat a table next to us gave us the wrong information. When I pointed out to him that this is completely illegal he basically said I am sorry I don't want to argue with you. I am sorry buddy but when you break the rules and jeopardize my safety the least you can do is to argue with me and explain to me how can you put two different parties with no masks in a tiny room and think that this is OK. I paid the check gave a good tip and left. I want all restaurants in NY to survive and frankly if other people are comfortable to take their risks I don't care. I did not want to take the risk of being in a tiny room with other people and this manager made that decision for me. I am sorry but your quacamole is not that good to risk getting sick. Good luck with everything and please understand that you have a responsibility to keep your customers and employees safe.

The food is good, kind of expensive for such small plates, well not even plates, they gave us our food in those paper bowl things, talk about lack of presentation. I understand times are hard right now so I'll cut them some slack. The food was good, the service was good, I would go back again when things get better.

I've never given a review but HAD to acknowledge the care and kindness I experienced with John. Dear friends of my daughter arranged her 26 birthday party at Tororia. I wanted to have one of her most special desserts delivered there to help her celebrate. As I do not live in NY, I relied on the bakery to use their delivery service. John gave me his mobile number to keep in touch. The delivery service was running late and John kept in touch with me every step of the way. It is THIS kindness we need for each other! John, I look forward to meeting you in person when I visit.Thank you again for all of your help!!
