Total Stop Damp

I used Mike walkers previous company Cobra damp control. He said it's 700 for the damp proof course and I also stressed I wanted an insurance backed guarantee. He said a verbal quote is free but if you want it in writing its 40 but you get it back if you use me. I didn't want to be committed so I just had a verbal quote. After the work was done I paid 700 and asked where my insurance backed guarantee was, he said I didn't say I'd do it for that price it's an extra 100 for the insurance backed guarantee post a cheque and I'll send it you. A couple of years later I noticed damp on my chimney breast he didn't put rods into the wall there so he charged me an extra 60, but it took many phone calls to get him up he kept saying it's such a small job it's not worth my while doing it. The company changed to total stop damp, so I thought I'd contact the insurance company as behind my wallpaper, my wall was covered in mould. The insurance company said I should have been given a written survey report and plans before he commenced work, but I had nothing in writing so the guarantee was a worthless piece of paper he charged me 100 for. I do not recommend Total stop damp.
