My family and I had a great time at Rat River Tubing! It cost less than 50 for my family of 3. You can't beat the price! We went down both rivers and would have gone again if we had more time. On the longer River there is an area where you can jump off a giant rock which my daughter loved and there were also goats you get to pass by which we thought was cool. At one point we saw a snake in the river. My family loves animals and nature so we thought it was pretty cool but a few other people seemed a little scared. The snake kept it's distance and no one was in danger. We saw people on the river as young as 2-3 and as old as 70. It is a great experience for everyone of all ages!

We really enjoyed our day on the river, although being rookies, we really wish we would’ve known that low river levels meant a lot more work. Several of us were in great shape, but a couple of those in my group had knee issues, and the water was so low in several places they struggled to walk on uneven river bed to maneuver back to passable areas of the float. We would’ve done the second section of the river, even though we had smaller children with us, had we known in advance. Overall though, great company and a great day! Kids loved jumping off the rock area into the river at one particular spot. We saw one snake sunbathing on a rock on the river bank. And we saw some goats on the riverbanks too. Would love to do this float again when the river is higher. Also a great tip is to arrive early, around opening time. We went right at 10am and river was pretty wide open and uncrowded and no wait for bus back to parking lot. When we got back to our car the entire lot was full, so I imagine the river was too.

We had a great time tubing at River Rat. From the check in to the bus ride back it went perfectly! We got a 2 off online reservation discount making the adult tickets 13, well worth that price! They offer waterproof phone cases at the check in which is a really nice option also, they are about 13. River Rat also has a good many other things that would be helpful to purchase if you so wanted, like push sticks and so forth. There is a lot to look at on the long ride down. There is plenty of parking and the bathrooms were clean. I notices also upon leaving, turning in our life jackets... They were sanitizing them before returning them to be used again!! This made me feel significantly better about the jacket touching my face so much which I had commented on go down the river. The bus was clean, the driver was in a good mood and making jokes with us, engaging in our day.... The whole end of tube ride team was very efficient and friendly! They even help you get out of the water in a gentlemanly way if you are in need, loved this so much!! My friend ended up buying summer passes! ALSO! They will retain your car key for you while you tube, super helpful!!

We went for the first time today (outpost A), and it was great! Highly recommend going early if you are at all concerned about covid (probably only 1/2 tubers and workers wore masks). The water was at 215 cfs, considered “high” as high is above 200. However, I wouldn’t have wanted to go if it were any lower as we still got stuck on more than a handful of rocks. This was certainly manageable, but I can understand how you would have had to walk quite a ways had the water been any lower. I highly recommend water shoes regardless of water level because even at the end of the route you have to walk across many large slippery rocks. They recommend dogs under 60 lbs for fear of popping the tubes, but I took my 100 lb golden retriever and there were no issues. The tubes are very durable. He also fit well on his tube and had no issues handling the small rapids when he laid down. Overall, we were very impressed and plan to return in the future!

Our tour guide, Alyse, was great - professional and skilled on the river. My wife and I have been rafting a couple times, but wanted something low key & safe for the whole family. We took the lower river run with small kids ages 5-12, and it was both fun & relaxing. Our 12 and 9 -year-olds helped paddle, and our 5 year-old enjoyed the ride in the front and the water launchers they let her use. They gave us the option to let her paddle, but we decided to let her chill in the raft. We really enjoyed the swim breaks Alyse gave us along way. Other companies were passing us going straight through not taking time to allow people to stop and get out and swim. We enjoyed the longer run & the more relaxed nature of River Rat. We hope to go back with our older kids for the upper river run sometime!
