I ordered the cajun salmon meal. When I got home I opened the container to find a cream sauce over the fish and cabbage. #weird The rice did not taste authentic, it was probably boxed rice. It was hard too. The cabbage was a little bland, but their portion size is crazy off balance. Half of the container was full of rice with about 1/4cup of cabbage. The salmon was decent, but a little dry. Not thrilled about going back.

I had a craving for some Caribbean food so I jumped on Yelp and found IslandQuizine. I took the time to read some of the comments and they all seemed positive so I decided to give it a try. When I arrived the restaurant was packed and that’s normally a good indication that the food is good. I order a small curd chicken and a large ox tail and a cat fish sandwich. I was a little disappointed about there serving portions but not surprised due to most Caribbean restaurants serving portions being a little smaller. The Ox Tail was nice and tender but didn’t have that strong bold flavor that I was looking for. The curry chicken was also nice and tender but again did not have that strong flavor that I’m used to. All in all the food was prepared well, the service was nice, and it’s definitely a place that I will go back to. Unfortunately this restaurant will be in the middle of the pack for Caribbean food. In ending this review I felt the restaurant played it down the middle as far as the seasoning goes for the two dishes that I had.
I ordered the ox tails. They were very tasty but was given then with barely any meat on the bone. Loved the gravy. Wait wasnt long like their other location.
The Maryland Crab soup is awesome. The Shrimp salad was delicious! Fast friendly service!
Food is delicious; however, the customer service has gone down and the prices have gone up along with the wait time. For example, I placed an order for 4 whole wings which, per the receipt, was 8.75. When my order was ready, I obtained 6 small party wings. I was instructed to throw the party wings in the trashcan and advised I would have to wait an additional 25-30 mins. Upon receiving my order, there were only 3 wings in the container. 8.75 for 3 wings. Never obtained an apology or a free drink for my additional wait time. Where is the old 2018 crew. They were awesome. Never again. So disappointed...
I just had the worst experience with whom ever is working the register RED SHIRT TWISTED HAIR, Towson location. She was very rude!!! I placed an order online order via their website and she was persistent that I received a confirmation email which I didn’t. She cut me off while speaking and asked the person who was behind me if she could help them. The other lady that was prepping orders asked my name and gave me my food. WHAT WAS THE ISSUE? She was very nasty!!! Walked outside and the gentleman that was in the store said she is always like that. Maybe island cuisine should find a place where she does not have to speak to customers. I can’t even speak on my food because of how rude she was.
The food is delicious which is easy to come by, but the customer service in unmatched! When you call they let you know the specials of the day. Tammy was very patient with me and didn’t mind explaining my options. When I arrive to the store I am instantly greatly with a friendly hello and I could hear the smile in her voice! I’m upset I didn’t get a chance to get the young ladies name! The garlic salmon is perfectly cooked, jerk chicken delicious, lamb Devine, honestly everything is good even the desserts but the juice honey is so refreshing! Try the green with the tropical punch and a lil yellow juice girllllll you wake up feeling like you can do 3000 squats. Honestly the only thing I didn’t like was that their tip jar was light! We gotta tip like we in a restaurant because they and cooking and serving the food! All in all SUPPORT THIS BLACK BUSINESS ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
Cannot rave enough about how crispy and juicy the chicken here is. Instead of supporting a franchise restaurant go here and order takeout to support a local place that actually makes food right. Support small businesses to keep them going and keep them making delicious food for our community.
