Visited the primitive camp site over Father’s Day 2020. Pretty easy trail for kids, dogs, etc. Campsite was austere with only a fire pit and flat spot for a tent. During our visit we heard many wildlife calls including barred owls, coyotes, frogs, toads, squirrels, etc.

Easy hike to Chase Lake. Bring an inflatable if you want to fish it. I wouldn't recommend a portage. Be aware, although they're harmless, there's a lot of leeches in the shallows near the shore.
Well marked trailhead with easy parking. Hiking to chase lake was fun and mainly flat. Beautiful views at the lake.
This trail is good for agility testing. Hills, rocks, tree roots, streams, trees to straddle over..keeps you on the move. Now add two dogs on leashes and it becomes even more challenging. All of that agility is worth it when you get to view the lake ( 3 miles from trail head) breathtaking on a sunny day!
