My favorite place but Denali seems always hide behind the clouds. In early April, the snow has been accumulated more than 5 ft deep. Stay on the established trail and be careful!

One of the best spots to take shots of denali and have a short stroll.
We made it here in April. There was still snow on the ground, so the walk in was a bit interesting, but the views were amazing. We were quite lucky and were able to get Denali without any clouds surrounding it.
Beautiful place to stop and get a good view of the mountain.
Sunny day. Parking lot covered in snow about 2 spots parking on the edge of the highway. And then the trek up the hill for the view.
Probably the best view of Denali you can get from the main road. We drove all the way from Fairbanks and the other areas weren't as good at all unless you drive way in. You need to do a short walk out to the viewpoint and it's amazing. We did it in January so there was lots of snow but the path was packed down so pretty easy to walk. Really a must do if you're passing by!
The south viewpoint is far better than the north - it gives your sweeping views up the river which creates dramatic depth when shooting photos of the mountain. The grounds seem to be better maintained also with plenty of information and binoculars to observe the surrounds. Make sure you have a good zoom on your camera because you’re still a bit too far for your iPhone camera to be effective
If you are in Fairbanks, don't forget to take a pleasant drive down to Denaly State Park south view point. If you love the outdoors and nature these is the spot. Breath taking scenary of the majestic Denaly mountain/ volcano. Word of advice take food for the road the majority of restaurants along the way are closed. Some gas stations are open.
