This trail has a nice loop with some mild elevation. We decided to go in the late afternoon a few hours before dusk. The trail signage is very easy to follow and as long as your on the trail, I feel it would be hard to get lost. As you start off, you can see a good bit of residential, but after the first few hundred feet or so, it's very wooded and quiet. This trail is mostly fields and pine forest. There is a neat little spot where you can see some chestnut trees that were planted. These are protected and are not producing. Check out my photos to see the parking lot, signage at the lot, and the trail map. The trail is nicely taken care of. There is also a nice wooden bench overlooking some rolling hills.

A gem of an open space! Lots of trails and pathways mean you can \choose your own adventure\ and make your walk as long or as short as you need. Dog-on-leash friendly, although many folks walk their dogs off leash. A few hills here but nothing unmanageable - however you may need spikes if it's snowy or icy. Busier on weekends but always enough parking.
A really lovely 3 mile trail through woods and meadow located at the base of Old Mission Peninsula just five minutes from downtown Traverse City. It could get crowded on holidays.
Beautiful trail with hills, lots of trees, lovely bay views at east end. Look forward to trying when there's more snow on the trails since there were some bare spots(was snowshoeing).
Solid choice for a short hike near downtown traverse city.
