I was born in Florence and attended Pestalozzi City School from age 5 to 13. I was in Trogen in 1968 and 1970 for a short summer vacation. I played with children from all over the world, a unique experience that changed my way of perceiving brotherhood. They were magical moments, the children sang together hand in hand in the big hall, when a group of children left we sang the \farewell song\ with many lit candles. I played in the woods and participated in a soccer tournament with Tibetan and Vietnamese children. Only later did I realize that they had fled the war in their countries. I remember this magical and educational experience with nostalgia, now I am 63 years old and I would like to return one day to visit that wonderful village. We should build at least one of these villages in every country to bring together children from all over the world! Daniele Cavari

I lived in the Kinderdorf from Jan 1970 until April 1974. Looking back now it was a fantastic experience which I will never forget. I did visit in 1997 with my family and my sister Geraldine who also lived here. We were very well looked after. Need to come back again sometime.

I worked in the Austrian House during 1957 - 1959. Herr Bill was in charge of the village then. It was a wonderful place to work and experience children of all nationalities schooling and playing together. My son is taking me back in July to revisit and I can't wait. I am proud to have been part of such a praise worthy cause.

I've been here twice, in '07 and '09. The Kinderdorf was one of the best experiences in my life. The members of this organization were very kind and understanding. Thanks to everyone! Greetings from Brjansk!

I have been in the children's village on two occasions. As part of the emPower program during which I lived in the village for 9 months, learned about child rights, met amazing people. This experience changed my life forever. And the second time for a senior professional training about child safe guarding which helped my NGO develope and implement safe guarding policies. I only have positive things to say about the foundation. If you have the opportunity to participate in any of their programs do it, I highly recommend it.
