We rented a car for one day. It had many small scratches when we picked it up; some were noted, and there was a note that many minor scratches were insignificant. We returned the car and checked to make sure no additional scratches were present. The pickup and return lot is open to the public. The next day we were emailed a notification of additional scratch with pictures. This absolutely was not our doing. We are contesting to the fullest extent. I don’t recommend using Hertz. If you do, I recommend taking many pictures before and after with date and time photos are taken. The lot is open, so anything can happen after you drop off- and that will be your responsibility. Additional information: there are definitely hidden fees. The total (not including any damages to vehicle claims) will be twice what you expect to pay.

Never again with Hertz worldwide. A totally unmanned delivery process together with abusive insurance excess conditions can turn into unpleasant surprises defencelessness situations for the customer. My particular experience: after a simple SMS communication I was charged more than 900 for a very light scratch in the hood (probably the result of a vandalic act), that could have been repaired without painting the full hood and bumper, as they supposedly did. I strongly recommend anyone who rents a car in Norway to avoid this company, and to get a full damage waiver insurance, as prices in the country are very high and customer services generally leave much to be desired.

Great service, I was offered every possible support: from guidance on car specific controls, through recommended route, till the returning procedure. I have a car with automatic transmission, I use guidance from Google maps, still, it was very nice to know that, should I have any doubts I would be helped. Car was in perfect shape. Highly recommended!

One of the best car rental services. Though it might be a bit costly, however they offer very well maintained cars. I drove Peugeot 3008. It was brand new and was very comfortable for long drive. Customer service is A grade and needless to say best in class. Love Hertz!

Absolutely amazing service. We called in the morning and with short notice they arranged a car for us. When I explained that we wanted to drive around and take amazing pictures of the nature the guy behind the desk was super helpful and showing me on a map where we should go, were we could not go because of the snow etc. Our trip to Tromsø was great and that guy from Hertz made it fantastic.

As I,m reading in other recent comments, something shady happens with Hertz (at least, or specially, in Tromso). Exactly the same happend to us. Renting a car here, you can not focus on your holidays. Think about it. There are other companies in Tromso. We have used different rental companies during our trip through Norway, without any problem. All perfect. But, once reaching Tromso and hiring with Hertz, they tried to tease us from the beginning and culminated with the (already typical) scratches scam at the end. We used the car very few and with absolute care, but, days after returning it (there is no one to receive it or check it), an email arrives, with supposed new scratches (suspiciously similar, in different parts of the vehicle). But already, during our stay, we had to return to the airport to claim nicely in person to cancel a charge for "extra day" (because of we picked up the vehicle 10 minutes before than agreed time). There are other rental car companies, some of them close to Hertz desk.

The location has moved from the old one behind the bridge to the new one where the tourist office is. The service was professional and friendly. We got a free upgrade and additional driver due to the confusion of the office locations. The car was a Skoda Octavia, pretty new and well maintained.
