Small but very pleasant museum with an amazing selection of Art, a fine store with localcraft goods and a nice playing educational area for kids. Very friendly and professional staff. Its worth to visit and u will get a free cofee with your ticket.
Modern updated art. Just the descriptions are in Norwegian. Could have been better if English translations were also available
Very interesting place and free for student :)
We had a very good time, the staff were incredibly friendly and even lent us a copy of the guide in English so that we could really appreciate all the displays. A highlight of our trip to Tromsø.
Seems like there's always something happening at Nordnorsk Kunstmuseum! The people are very friendly and happy to talk to you about art.
The exhibit, There is No, taught me much about the Sami indigenous people in Norway. No word for Art, yet what artisans they are! Utilizing resources found in nature for tools, bowls and clothing were vibrant and beautiful. Tastefully displayed in a spacious venue of silence. I found myself very engaged with the exhibit. Free entrance and informative brochure and attendees came as a bonus surprise. If only the free coffee machine worked...it would have been perfect to sit and reflect on the emotion. I highly recommend this museum during your trip in Tromso.
Nice place. There is a piano where everyone can try out their "talent", maybe the piano's volume could be tuned down by two dB. Staff are very friendly. I liked the letter writing corner and small little "did you know notes", but maybe something different in every note rather than one repeated message all over the places.
