The Lander Monument, dedicated to Truronian explorer brothers Richard and John Lander, is a pillar at the top of Lemon Street. It can be seen from quite a distance and provides its namesake to many of the surrounding buildings and businesses, though it's tucked out of the way and almost forgotten about, which is a shame. The face of the figure stop the pillar has eroded away and there is non-native foliage planted in front of it blocking much of its otherwise commanding sightline. The Lander Monument deserves better.
