This a great waterfall to visit in winter! It is a nice, easy hike from the parking area and the scenery is beautiful. This place is also popular with ice climbers, thanks to the thick ice that forms on the falls in winter. My only gripe is the parking - the lot is probably only 1/3 the size it should be, considering how popular it is year-round. This can lead to several dozen cars being forced to park on the shoulder which is particularly uncomfortable in winter.

Short walk to falls , most of the way is handicap accessible . I had an ankle replacement earlier this summer and made my way up the stairs and behind the fall .

This area in general is absolutely stunning, but the walk up to the falls is not only relaxing, its also handicap accessible which in itself is impressive. The trail at the top of the falls connects in two different directions with one leading further up the hill to the scenic overlook and on into Morgan Hill coming out near Spruce Pond. In the other direction (due east from the Top of the falls) you'll connect with the Fingerllakes Section of the North Country Trail, a 3800 mile trail stretching from Vermont to South Dakota. Amazing place to explore and worth the visit (but if you REALLY wanna see water, visit in the late spring!)

We visited today (August 1st) and the falls were barely a trickle. It made the steep stone steps feel less “worth it”. We also tried the separate 2-mile route, which we found to be poorly marked and confusing. Overall, we didn’t have a BAD time here, but if you’re looking for a stunning waterfall or an enjoyable hike, perhaps you should consider spending your day elsewhere.

Would have loved it if it wasn't so dangerous. The 300 year old steps are worn, it's a heck of a incline, we ended up slipping down them and brushing our legs and back pretty good. We should sue the state. Hoping that New York will find these run down parks someday instead of blowing 100 million on a bridge for the name of the father of our corrupt governor.
