Dr. James is the most caring, reassuring, and professional doctor you will find in his field of medicine. I wish all doctors were like him. He takes his time and explains things. I had a scope that I can't even pronounce. I was so afraid I didnt think I could do it but Dr. James & his fabulous staff at his office (and the Specialty Hospital) all took care of that! They kept telling me how great Dr. James was. I was gaining a bit of confidence. Boy, were they right! Dr. James personally put all of my fears to rest by taking the time to address each fear I had, at his office and even before the procedure. That's rare these days. I didn't feel like a number on a chart. I was a real person to him. Sure enough, before I knew it my scope was over, he found my problems, and I'm on my way to feeling like a real human again. Thank you so much Dr. James. You're one in a million! Rosemary Jackson

Began seeing Dr. James in 1972, have seen others, when not living in OK, but, he is by far the best, most knowledgeable gastroenterologist I have ever seen. He's the only doctor that has ever called me, himself, or accepted a call from me even after hours. Best bedside manner you could ever want, will take the time to make sure you understand everything you need to know. I personally think he is awesome!!

Dr. James is the best!! My mother had to have her stomach removed and Dr. James saw her after we tried getting appointments with several gastroenterologists in Tulsa turned us down. We had even travelled to Minnesota so she could be treated at the Mayo Clinic. Dr. James conferred with Mayo's doctors and was able to continue their recommended treatment plan right here in Tulsa. We love him!

In response the current review. Dr. James' electric, phones and computers were out do to a recent storm. Our building number is #300 and we left no note on the front door because we were here seeing patients that could not be reached. However, the building in front of ours which is #100 did hang a note on the door saying they would call patients at a later date to reschedule. You and your GPS might have to figure that one out yourself. Because your views are not shared does not mean people are rude. Dr. James' medical ability and knowledge is unmatched in Tulsa and surrounding areas for the patients interested in that.

I called to make an appointment with Dr. James two months ago because he would not approve a refill on my prescription. They could not get me in until last week and when I arrived at their office there was a note on the front door of the building that said "closed due to power outage, will call to reschedule appointments". I waited a few days and never received a call from their office, I called them. When I told the reception person why I was calling and that I didn't think it was very professional of them to not call and cancel or call to reschedule; she immediatly put me on hold and the office manager picked up the phone. She asked me what the problem was and I repeated that I showed for my appointment without notice of cancellation, that I had not heard from them as the note on the door said I would and that I felt it was unprofessional. She told me that there was NOT a note on the front door (which I promise was not an apparition). I asked why would I lie about a note? She responded that she was there and she knows there was no note on the door and also that she didn't like having to sit there all day in an un-airconditioned office with no lights. She was extremely rude and unprofessional and was implying that I was lying about being there. I can prove I was there, and on time by the GPS on my car because I had programmed it in that day before my appointment. I realize that the power outage was a hassle for many folks but I also have co-workers who had received calls from their doctors offices cancelling appointments. Even so, there was no attempt to contact me later. I cannot say whether or not Dr James is a good doctor but his office manager is probably the most unprofessional, rude person I have had the unfortunate chance of encountering in many years. I will find another doctor.

I have been a patient with Dr James for almost 20 years. He has more than once taken care of my illnesses. If you have CVS he is your man. If you have ulcers and IBS he is your man.
