This classic spot is a must for So Cal Fine diners! It really has some cool history and the food is top notch! I had the seabass and it was cooked to perfection! My Girlfriend had a great steak and loved the piano! Was recommended by a friend and I will now be doing the same!

My wife and I visited Nieuport 17 for the first time, primarily to hear Andrew Marks and Sammy perform. They were great when they performed at our wedding two years ago, but they seemed even better last Thursday! Great atmosphere and food too!

Love happy hour at Nieuport 17. The new bartender, Sophia, is fabulous...knowledgeable, friendly, efficient. Wish the restaurant still offered its flatbread pizza during happy hour.

I'm not a big review writer but after our anniversary dinner at 17 last nite felt moved to do so. We've eaten at 17 several times in the past and it's always been very good. But it has now graduated to excellent which is likely attributable to the new chef(s) that began working there a week ago. They seem to take pride in every course they prepare and especially the sauces and dressings. The In-house made wedge salad dressing and shrimp cocktail sauce w/ capers & avocados were refreshingly flavorful and laid the foundation for entrees to come. My medium rare filet was cooked to perfection and the roasted tomato demi glace was a perfect companion to the potatoes and asparagus as well as the meat. The artichoke gnocchi also had an amazingly flavorful sauce that was delicious and unique to our pallets. The 17 definitely has the old school charm befitting its heritage, with the ivy covered walls in front and the romantic dim lighting of the polished wood inside. But the new chefs have brought some wonderful and unique tastes to the menu. With the concerted effort to make every individual component of the meal a culinary delight, The "New" Nieuport 17 is better than ever.

Extremely overpriced for the quality of food. It used to be our favorite palce but now disappointing. 26 for a simple salad at lunch....c'mon!??

I don't usually write reviews, but these folks deserve it. First, let me start off by noting that I purchased a Groupon for a 5 course Chef's Tasting meal with wine pairings (this is an important component of my review). Through this purchase, Groupon has customers pick a day and time for a reservation, and sends you a confirmation. Great! I booked a table for 2 about 20 days after I purchased the deal. Here's the problem: Groupon has been completely screwing over Nieuport 17 (and its customers) by not running these "reservations" by the restaurant. Thus, when I arrive at Nieuport 17 with my fiancee, it turns out the restaurant has no clue we were supposed to be there, through no fault of their own. To make matters worse, this has apparently been an ongoing problem they've been having with Groupon, which has not made things easy for them. Here's how this becomes relevant: they handled this with incredible professionalism and kindness, and accommodated us anyway. The host spoke with the manager, took my information, and we were seated immediately. We were served considerately and promptly, and the food was delicious, and moreover beautifully presented. The wine pairings were remarkably well chosen, and the ambiance was very intimate and comfortable. This was definitely among the best dining experiences I've had, and I'm something of a foodie these days. To wrap this up, I would certainly recommend a visit based on the food, but as great as that was, these people really, truly know how to go above and beyond to take care of their customers.
