I was lucky enough to try the princess cake and angel cookies from Poul’s. It was my boyfriend’s birthday and he grew up on Princess cake but he hasn’t had it for 10 years! It was everything he remembered and absolutely loved it (and so did I). Ayliz was so sweet, helpful, and flexible despite how late I was running because I had to drive from San Diego. I highly recommend supporting this business. I can’t wait to get all of my cakes here in the future!

Let me start by saying that I love cakes. Dearly. So when I find great cakes, I try to let the world know! This is the case with Poul's. I photographed a wedding last week, and the bride kindly gave me a giant slice to take home. First, the aesthetics. The cake was beautifully decorated (see attached photo) in a minimalist yet elegant manner. Next, the real test. It was pure heaven! The cake was delectably moist, rich, and flavorful... so much that I will be adding them to my list of recommended local bakeries and will order from them for my next event!
Absolutely the best! They made two cakes for me with short notice for one of them. Great cakes, great customer service. The kiddos loved their cakes. I will definitely use them again!
Since we found Poul's, we have not ordered cakes from anywhere else. We've tried the Cookies and Cream, Boston Cream, and the Princess Cake, and they are all delicious! (Though Cookies and Cream is my personal favorite and we've ordered it several times.) They are not too sweet, plus the moisture content and texture are perfect. I have never seen my mom finish a slice of cake prior to Poul's. While she usually lets other people take home any leftover cake, she will happily keep and eat all the cake from here. Note: call the number before you go, the shop might be closed, but the owner is still making cake!
We recently moved from Minnesota, land of many great Princess Cakes (Tortes), and we were all so relieved and happy to know that we can find a good Princess Cake locally at Poul’s!! The ordering and pickup process was easy and efficient. The 6” cake was more than plenty for four adults. Flavors are best when cake is room temp (so plan accordingly, since the cake was refrigerated).
Never thought that I could eat so delicious galette des rois here. But today I do! Amazing French style bake that you should not miss in Orange County. May call the owner for your order as the store is no longer there. You can always pick up in Tustin.
Love love love the swedish princess cake! My absolute favorite dessert ever! Also got my nephew's birthday cake here. Adorable and delicious!
