I was referred to Dr. Cleary to discuss my chronic pain. I found Dr. Cleary to be very insightful into various causes of pain due to her background in nursing before her switch later into the field of psychology. A lot of people don't realize that the body and mind have more of a relationship and that whole \its in your head\ is nonsense. Trauma and pain literally change your brain and your body's sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. I found her easy to talk to and her office was comfortable. She had some great processes to teach me how to calm down my nervous system and it allowed me to work through difficult, triggering situations later without the pain amplification that would come after something anxiety or stress inducing. She had a hunch about another aspect of my pain related to inflammation due to certain proteins in foods. That hunch was so helpful. My pain is far less and I am able to be more active, which has helped my mental health. I would definitely recommend her.
