Can't say enough how wonderful this place is. Trevor has out done himself. Absolutely everything was perfect, from the meals to the decor, the property is stunning.
We stayed at black river retreat for our anniversary and just got back today.. This place is beautiful!!! Gorgeous surroundings and exquisite interior. The food is beyond incredible. Trevor was so welcoming and has created such a beautiful getaway. We are already planning our next stay and will be recommending this spot to all of our family and friends
Black River Retreat far exceeded any of our expectations. The place was just beautiful! Trevor was a great host from start to end. The food was excellent!! We had the pork medallions and it was one of the best meals we’ve had. My husband and I also fished in the river and kayaked during the afternoon. At night time, all the lights are on and we enjoyed the hot tub very much. This place is magical and we highly recommend it to everyone!
I can't say enough about Black River Retreat. Trevor, the owner, has considered every aspect to ensure an excellent stay for his guests. The atmosphere is very relaxing and the food is phenomenal. We are so happy we stumbled upon the retreat and we will certainly be back; on our own and with friends! Get yourself to the retreat!
Trevor is amazing. This place feels like home. The only downside to posting a great review is that it may be harder to book in the future. Love this place and would highly recommend
The resort itself was stunning, the service excellent, food was amazing and the fact we had it all to ourselves was the kicker. Trevor’s attention to detail in how he designs his guests stay is outstanding. Small touches throughout the property inside and out were surprising and delightful. His creative use of lights, twigs, wood chips indoors and out, the multiple areas around the property to relax, speakers for your music everywhere, cool games room/loft, that cedar tub - all amazing. Trevor was attentive and present when needed then made himself scarce all other times so we could enjoy our private time and 25th anniversary celebrations. Exceeded our expectations, and we will be back. Highly recommend. S
Absolutely beautiful getaway. The location is almost perfect (the only thing that would make it better is a deeper river for swimming, but that is not Trevor's fault). The food was delicious, especially the Cornish Hen. The lodge is wonderful, and Trevor has thought of every detail. Our one recommendation is to put a roof over some of the chairs on the deck for a place to sit outside when it's raining.
