Academically: There are much, much better, but there are even more that are worse. Socially: Eh... it's a really great reflection of the city of Tyler itself. If, and only if you can find a group (and there's a good chance you won't), and if you can ignore most of the bad stuff that happens, you can be happy here. This was the better of my two high schools, but I know that my brother's current school is a million times better than this.

When I went the school was good except for all the fighting n some teachers don't teach but those year they have became a school that I wouldn't let my kids go to because of the new principal n the new rules

whataver you do, dont attend this school like who tf doesnt let your students wear hats....i had cancer and they wouldnt let me wear hats so i left :( i wish i could cuss FUDGE YALL

Public School--its a joke! and this one is the best at show! The worst at communication with the parents. Relies strictly on the internet and emails.-- what ever did we do before then??

Teachers often slept at their desks during class, made racist remarks, or taught misinformation (ie. the 'New Orleans purchase' or 'Condoms don't work'). Going to REL was one of the most upsetting times in my life: I have never seen such ignorance promulgated so freely. Do not send your children here if you can avoid it. As an adult, I am appalled at what I saw there and only wish something could be done to stop it.
