APA was born out of necessity: After living in urban cities where it rains for much of the year, we discovered what was missing in today’s Fashion market: a modern coat that merges luxury with technology to protect us from the ever changing weather. Rainwear apparel had to be reinvented. ĀPA was founded by Franco-Belgian designer Léa Stein in collaboration with colleagues from top European luxury brands. Our team went on a journey: over 18 months, we traveled to top factories, labs and suppliers in Belgium, France, Switzerland, Italy, Germany and Poland to create a coat that would protect us from changing elements while looking our best. Everything – from materials to manufacturers – is 100% made in Europe, brought to you by the best experts in tailoring and design along with cutting-edge performance technologies from extreme sports apparel such as skiing, surfing and snow expeditions. Green technologies and responsible manufacturing are at the heart of our core values of being innovative in a transparent and sustainable way. We also value inclusive-diversity and you can see this in how we not only create our products but ensure they are available at an affordable price. ĀPA is the Sanskrit word for the element of water and we built our coats to live up to the name.
