When we visit a place, whether it is an old favorite or new one we give ourselves in their hands to see what & how they will serve us. At least that's my way when I go out to eat. Today we went to the not so old restaurant "The Balcony". About place - Like their tag line or belief its a place where you can come in your shorts, in dresses, be alone or be with friends you don't feel out of the place & space. No grandeur interior but the simple & elegant arrangements. The ambiance is quite nice. Even though its Air Conditioned they also have a Balcony for those fresh air feels. About Food - I went their for the soul purpose of trying their Dal Makhani which they call Dal Balcony. We ordered that but before that we ordered starters which included Chana Chaat, Paneer ke Shoole & Melting Moment Sandwich. Small Black chana's tossed with tomatoes, onion in their home made sauce with a hint of tangy flavour. Second came Paneer ke Shoole, the paneer was fresh well cooked & very well presente as well. Thirdly in starters came the sandwich, perfectly baked herb bread & one of the most delcious filling accompanied with banana sticks. Now coming to the star Dal Makhani or Dal Balcony. It was different from the Dal Makhani I'm used to, very mile spices & loaded & posted with lots & lots of Ghee. We were also given Butter milk Shots & their special desert Lal Balcony. The butter milk was very tasty & as I'm a person who don't like deserts much so can't comment but my friends with me really enjoyed the desert. In bread we had missi roti & tandori roti. It was one of the best missi roti we have had in Udaipur. If you are in town and are looking for a place where you can just go the way you feel comfortable & want good food with either an open or roofed ambiance this is one of the best places to be in the heart of the city...

All stars for the food, very delicious pink sauce pasta with garlic bread, galouti kebab roll is also very delicious. This is a pure vegetarian restaurant with a short, simple and interesting menu. They have something for everyone. Ambience is kind of a rustic unclaimed look with several paintings and caricatures. They have good music, seating arrangements can be made more comfortable with couches rather than bench type seats and chairs.

I loved the whole experience out there.. Staff were so polite and even owner was also there who greeted us very well.... Taste of food was superb.. Commendable presentation of food... Specifically chef came out to ask for the reviews.. Ambiance is simple but fantastic..
