I love this gracious venetian style place
Considered the most beautiful Venetian square on dry land, the Piazza it's full of art and beauty. From the Loggia del Lionello, a pink and white striped Venetian building from the XVIII, to the Torre Dell'orologio designed by Giovanni da Udine, to the magnificent Arco Bollani, towered by a San Marco Lion designed by Palladio. The 4 statues represent the Peace of Campoformido, treaty signed at the end of the Napoleonic war, the Justice and Ercole and Caco. These two are affectionately called Florean and Venturin and have been translittered into the Saints protectors of the city. I grew up in this Piazza in the building under refurbishment where now many manufactures and Roman vestiges have been discovered.
Daytrip if you visited Venice.
A must go place if you stop near by! Very nice area
