How has this service managed to operate at such poor standards for so long, reading all the reviews from ages ago and I have similar experience currently, is no one at the leadership held accountable for the kind of service they provide? Is there an escalation process? is there someone you can complain to who would actually take it seriously? An embarrassment to the UK as a point of contact for service

Over all I would say the staff were friendly and supportive especially the one who works for the home office. The ones who works for the enforcement team were okay or maybe it's due to the nature of their job.
Wish I could give less than one star, as I have called 8 times and no one has answered. Everything is automated and if you do manage to select a number that leads to a representative they just let the phone ring. AND THEN the agent put the phone down on me halfway through my query. Utterly unhelpful and useless.

Used to be based on Boar lane,(maybe it still is in part??), but its location was kept a secret to stop terrorist and of course anyone who needed there help from finding it. A bit like in the movie Brazil, if you really need it then you would know where it is, so if you cannot find it you don't really need it. Government administration at its best. They mainly used to look into the claims of refugees to see how many they didn't have to help so expect the same kind of bureaucratic 'help' if, god help you, you actually have to go there
