I have purchased many items from Pretty things Boutique now and I love all of them. I needed to return a pair of shoes as they were to small and Victoria couldn't have been more helpful. She was ever so lovely and was more than happy to exchange them for me. I have also been converted from wearing jeans all the time to wearing the magic pants. Just love them!! super comfy and so smart looking!

As the Bowness branch is on the route I travel to shops in the village, I usually look in to see what is available. I probably buy something there three or four times a year and have done ever since it opened. I cannot be bothered to try things on in the shop, so, aware that they do not return money, I have exchanged things more than once. No problem. However, last Monday I purchased a top there and returned with it on Wednesday. It was from the sale rack and cost 17. I put the garments I had selected to purchase, value 52, on the counter and then produced the top to be changed. At that point I was told that sales goods could not be exchanged, as it is not company policy. When I pointed out that I had not been told that when I purchased the garment, she, the boss, merely reiterated that it was down to company policy. I left the shop without buying anything, so there was a 35 loss there for her. I will never buy anything there again so she has also lost a regular customer. I am amazed that anyone in business can fail to grasp the commercial stupidity of such a rigid stance.
Appalling customer service today. Had spoken to member of staff about returning/ exchanging a pair of boots bought for me as too small. Was assured there would be no problem . I am not local so explained there would be a delay of a good few weeks before was back in area. Girl in Ulverston shop was very helpful and arranged with a manager in Bowness that if a bank statement could be produced then a full refund would be given, despite them now having been discounted. Great, thank you. The owner then arrived and overruled this. Her attitude and manner were poor, to say the very least. So, a regular customer has been lost , but she was unconcerned. Well done... there are ways to lose business and you excelled . Avoid.
Extremely bad customer service and communication from the BOSS as she sternly informed us. The shop assistant was helpful until the boss came in and unprofessionally overuled her. It seems evident the markup on this shops items could be classed as extortionate if our purchase is anything to go by. This shop has now lost a good and regular customer as we won't be going back again. Shame on you boss for your lack of care towards customers you so dearly need. High street shops are in demise so your attitude won't help.
