I hired a lovely Trek Madone 6.2 from John for a week at the start of June as was travelling all the way down from Shetland. The service from John was great, he was easy to contact if I had any queries and this made the whole process go smoothly. Myself and a mate from work were cycling in the Lakes Monday to Thursday and then we took on the coast to coast route Friday. We went from Whitehaven to Tynemouth, roughly 134 miles later and we made it. The bike was fantastic, the electric gearing was a real bonus as my bike doesnt have them. I would recommend using John if you are going to be hiring a bike in the lake district. He has a good selection of frames to choose from and the prices when taken over a week were really good.
