This was our first visit since new ownership and l have no complaints at all! The service was prompt, friendly and attentive. We had the 3 course Sunday lunch. The garlic mushrooms and pate were delicious although l found the ciabatta bread tasteless and a bit dry. We all really enjoyed the roast dinner and the Apple and toffee crumble was much appreciated although we really Had to try the sticky toffee pudding.. .That is our mark of a good chef and a good place to eat both of which passed with flying colours! Welcoming. Relaxed atmosphere. Value for money. Will come again.

Lovely pub with some delightful features. Nice range of ales and really helpful, charming staff. We arrived just before 7pm on a Sunday. They had had a busy day, the batman told me and requested we order food quickly before the kitchen closed. Not a great vegetarian selection but that is hardly unusual. The food arrived very promptly and was rather dismal. A few chips and a the last bits from the salad box along side a veggie burger sitting all alone in its bun. My companion's garlic mushrooms were more problematic. It seemed to be mostly sauce with the odd mushroom piece and the bread was stale. The bread was replaced with half a bun on request but we ended up sending the dish back. The young man serving us was very obliging and apologetic and it does look like the food can be good, especially if you eat meat. I imagine the kitchen was tired after turning out 70 covers that day, but if you can't do it well, don't do it.
