What a lovely warm friendly place. Staff are very professional and welcoming. The food was superb. We couldn't have asked for better. The pork belly and open pie was so tasty and extremely well presented. The chef even came and sat and chatted with us all beside the fire. What a great homely place. A proper pub with local beer. Dog friendly. The resident dog Jim is adorable.

Home of the Greenodd brewery so my first taste of their beer. Excellent real ale. Fantastic village pub a short distance off the main road. Loved the beer. Great atmosphere. Very good pub food. Lovely fire. Small car park but plenty of on street parking. Well worth visiting.

Warm welcome to us and our dog. Beer was very good. Never had a meal but perused the menu. Really good selection and reasonable price so will be back to try. Also background music was to our taste!

Such an amazing experience. Came here after a day in the lakes with 2 dogs, received a warm welcome and the dogs got biscuits (even after being a bit barky - sorry!). The barman/waiter was incredibly friendly and helpful. The food was great, well priced, and the menu was well put together. Dessert was all homemade including the ice cream which was incredible! They even brew their own beer! You really can't go wrong visiting here.

Warm welcome from the start, really nice pub with a great selection ales and a good menu for the food. All meals were freshly prepared and very tasty, kids had a small fish and chips, myself the pork belly and my wife had the steak and Guiness pie. Nice open fire to sit by before your meal.

The place was lovely, very historic looking, the customers and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. The food was great and to top it off, some customers brought their dogs in! Bonus! Spent a lot of time chatting to people I've never met before and fussing dogs. I'd go back in a heartbeat. Loved the place, and the dogs, don't forget the dogs!

Had a pint and a cider. Local ale Greenood brewery very nice ,when in Rome. And met a lovely chap called Jim and when a I say chap he was actually a dog. Sat with me on the couch in front of log burner. Much easier to handle than the old bird.

We ate here tonight. Fabulous food and beer with the friendliest welcome we have had in ages in a restaurant or pub. Dog friendly too and we will be back soon, not least because the dog will make us go back!
