Delicious, NYC-quality, family-friendly, and socially distanced restaurant with outdoor heated seating in our own backyard! As the weather gets colder, my family and I feel less motivated to go out for dinner but also hate feeling like we have to cook every day. However, Fork Hill Kitchen, a restaurant located at 201 16th St. in Union City, has been our savior! It's our go-to restaurant for it's nearby location, convenient take-out and delivery options, and socially-distanced indoor/outdoor (heated) seating that makes us feel like we have a safe place to go for excellent food and service during the pandemic. The menu is carefully selected by Executive Chef Eric who changes the menu according to what's in season while also keeping a few staples throughout the year (my favorite is the spicy chicken sandwich...hits the spot every time). The ambiance is modern and intimate and it's the kind of place where we stop by to say hello to the warm and welcoming owners (Ed and Brenda) and staff whenever we pass by! Our 4 year old son feels like he's visiting family when we go visit because Ed and Brenda always stop by to chat with him (and us) and give him snicker doodle cookies all the time (which are also to die for by the way!) Who needs NYC when you have a NYC-level restaurant more personalized in your own backyard? We love supporting family-owned small businesses and hope others will also support this lovely restaurant...it's one of Union City's best kept secrets! (Took the picture in the early fall; the outdoor seating is still available both in front of the restaurant as well as across the street when it's busy, which does not appear in this picture).

We recently moved to the area, and Fork Hill Kitchen caught our attention. We decided to try it for brunch this weekend, and were not left disappointed. The interior is very clean, and they have an open kitchen where you can see everything. Staff is very welcoming, and professional. I'm not sure if this is a family-run business but it's filled with family spirits. It has a slight romantic vibe with non-lyrical music playing in the background (Yiruma, Elton John, etc.) Tried the Big Breakfast Combo, and the Crab Cake Benedict. Presentation was perfect, and the taste was amazing. I would've liked more eggs for the amount of sausage/bacon that was in my plate, but that's just me. Would have been a full 5 star if the food hadn't caused us some heartburn later on, but that was due to the high amount of black pepper in the sausage and the hashbrowns. Be wary of that if your body isn't best friends with black pepper like me!
The service here was honestly one of the best experiences I have ever had. All the members of staff are extremely kind, including the owner. We came for valentines day. The food was outstanding, the service was impeccable. Come here, you won't regret it.
It was amazing! The staff was great and very attentive. If I could give this restaurant 1000 stars I honestly would. I will definitely be back again
Attention to detail is important for any business but when the business is a restaurant, the food has to shine. Fork Hill Kitchen shines bright on all counts. The staff is clearly well trained, very welcoming, informed and efficient. The modern and brightly appointed, aestheticly pleasing dining room offers table and counter seating. A beautiful open kitchen where patrons can easily see Executive Chef Eric Clemente and his passion for seasonal cuisine is on display for all to see... More importantly, taste. We decided on stepping out this morni g for a lazy Sunday brunch and couldnt be more pleasantly surprissd. I am a big time foodie and dispite this eatery being a little off the beaten path, it was very inpressive. We ordered steak and sunny side up eggs. It featured a perfectly seared, medium rare, flat iton steak that featured a nicely seasoned crust swimming in a perfectly balanced herbaceous chimi churry sauce served along side, the golden yolked, lightly salted and peppered eggs and a crispy wedge of baked hash browns. We also ordered a big breakfast combo. All of your favorites, eggs your way, thick cut bacon, hash browns, a choice oftoast or pancakes and what has to be a scratch made sausage patty. Simple ingredients expertly prepared. Fork Hill Kitchen may be a litte out of the way but more than worth the trip.
