I'm trying to purchase ski gear and was informed that all red modell credit cards had a ban because of some fraudulent issues. I have my ID and my credit is in good standing. I called customer service. They know of no such ban. Then put me on hold for infinity, never coming back to the phone. I googled any Modell ban or fraud issues and found no information. They have lost my business. What a horrible way to treat loyal customers.

I really don't like this store. The customer service really stinks. I stood for a while with a shoe in my hand and a young man continued to overlook me as he chatted it up with a friend who stopped by the store. No they were not shopping. Another person walked into the department, he had her and her daughter waiting for am extended period of time also. Not once did this young black guy attempt to assist me. He went to the lady and her daughter to try to assist them, NEVER did he acknowledge our presence. We left the department wandered to the next. As we decided to leave feeling rejected. The manager noticed us and asked if we had been helped. I told him no and what I came for. He helped me although what I wanted they didn't carry. I gave 2 stars because the manager is the only person in the store valued our patronage of this store. We purchased balls for the school and left. This was my 3rd visit to this location and by far the worst visit.
The kind of shopping experience you will have here depends on which employee is working. Yesterday I went to try to buy some hiking boots. All the boots had a plastic anti-theft tag positioned in the shoe so it was impossible to try them on. The in that department was uninterested in helping me. Ended up getting a pair that turned out to be too big once I got them home and tried them on. Brought them back to exchange and David was working. If David's manager is reading this, he deserves to be commended for customer service. He helped me find a boot better suited to my purpose and moved the security tags so the shoes could be tried on. I left this time with a boot I'm happy with.
A very good, tidy, and inviting store. But, the service leaves something to be desired - I wanted to purchase a jersey that was (understandably) locked to it's hanger, but I had to do a full lap around the store to eventually arrive at the front counter to ask to have the item unlocked - I have to say, I intended to do that exercise once I'd purchased my sporting goods, not in the process of doing so. That being said, the staff were helpful and nice once found. Also, the prices tend to be more affordable than other nearby sporting goods stores, so it is a primary go-to location.
