A very sad day indeed for Fort Hare and by extension our Country.......a video entitled "children of Africa" has been created and widely circulated on whatsapp by an Honours student by the name of Thando Sipuye, according to information supplied. The video, an invented history of white on black violence, using graphic words and imagery clearly amounts to hate speech and incitement to violence against a minority. This appears to reflect rather badly on the norms and standards expected to be upheld by the University, now by this method brought into disrepute. It is likely that criminal charges will follow.

University of Fort Hare, East London campus is located at the end of Oxford street. Unlike the main campus in Alice, the buildings (departments) are scattered among other businesses. Hence departments might be difficult to locate. However, major management office & staff are located in the East London campus. If one is interested in the historical structures & artifacts of the university, the Alice campus is the place to visit...

Conservation worthy historical building. This building used to be the original Wool Exchange building.
