This is a beautiful park. There is a three and a half mile bike path right alongside the water canal. The scenery is beautiful and serene. There are many homes with backyards that are right up against the canal. The homeowners and park visitors take great care to keep their yards and park clean. People are friendly and respectful. The park is very historic along with a fascinating history. There is a beautiful historic covered bridge and plaques along the way explaining the history of the park. There is also a a bathroom along the bike path for those needing a break. There are great and plenty of photo opportunities. A great place to spend a nice cool day.

Wow, the solidarity amongst all campers and the fun one has is unmatched. Best place ever for all activities are awesome and no law enforcement interaction unless they checking for permits. But ultimately, it is fair play. Make sure you plan right. The rules are you make your own rules but make sure you understand you are in the wild and respect nature so that others can enjoy as well. So that we may all continue to camp for a long period of times without having to be regulated.

Meet up with my cousins for a bike ride on the canal.it was hotter than anything but a ride under the beautiful tree cover was great! The traffic on the path was non existent in the afternoon...with the exception of a few geese...lol...the flotilla was out in force

Beautiful location to start walking the canal. There's an old lockhouse where you can pick up some brochures and speak with a park ranger. This lock has an elevation change and a diverter for the water while the lock is in use.
