I was on the waiting list for over a year, was told multiple times that I had been moved down the list for a higher paying job, and finally that they aren't dipping car body's anymore. I know that the estimate for dipping my 66 Impala wasn't that big of a payday for Mara, but ethical business practices dictate that you serve the customers once you state that they're on the list in a certain order, not keep bumping them down for higher paying jobs. Outside of that, they are extremely hard to get a hold of, and don't return calls or e-mails. Not slow returns, No Returns. Please higher someone qualified to run the business before you ruin what is left of your brother's business.

The results after several weeks were good. However, it took close to 6 weeks for them to begin. We are talking about a small one shelf table here. Getting in touch or getting any information about the progress or delay, or reason for the delay was impossible. This may be an anomaly. However, that was my experience. I, personally, will not be using Chem Strip. The one positive thing was that once the owner of the business got involved, the job the job was completed. I'm

I had nine, 150 year old doors stripped and refinished here. They did a wonderful job and our historic preservation client was elated the doors turned out so well. The office manager is not there full time which made getting updates on the refinishing work difficult for us to relay status to our client. Otherwise, top notch work. They seem to do a lot of door, trim, and radiator refinishing but they also showed me their capabilities to \dip\ large auto body parts and other unique pieces.

I called and spoke to Mara about paint and prep recommendations for clear coating my cast iron radiators in Maine. I had come across their number in a NY Times article about the process and got the impression they knew their stuff. Mara was incredibly helpful and informative, even knowing that I was not going to be able to bring my radiators to her. She clearly enjoys what she does and she knows her stuff. I would jump at the chance to have her restore my radiators!

I was on the waiting list for a little over a year. I was trying to get a ‘73 Pontiac dipped. The management said that I was on the list, but could not give me a date. I called to check and see if I was up every month. Most times I would hear nothing back. Months into waiting Chemstrip told me that I had been bumped out of my place by a better paying job/ contract. I have not heard back from the management on weather they are going to strip my car. At the onset of this experience when it got close to my supposed first scheduled date I took out a loan, and then had to return it due to the date moving. Apparently my low paying project was discarded. The owner Mara doesn’t seem able to communicate with customers, or perhaps just the low paying jobs. At best the management team is incompetent, but it’s my experience that Mara is dishonestly pushing scheduled customers to the bottom of the line for more profitable ones.
