Had a nice evening picnic with my family on a beautiful warm sunny evening. There were lovely children playing in the grounds from the campsite & they were nice to my 3 year old grandson who wanted to play too. Awesome views & quaint walks around the castle ruins, soaking up the history! Definitely going again & only a 15 minute drive from where we live!

Had a great walk around the grounds. It was a day after they had a wedding so it was pretty quiet. Great to have a nose about and also take in the beautiful scenery. Some good walks nearby too.

A nice walk around the ruins of this castle and the tower if you go back into the property. There was some work being done on the grounds while we were there in the old stable area. I hope they continue as this could be an even nicer attraction with some attention.

Beautifully cared for site in a lovely locality. Surprises and feast for the senses round every corner you turn. There are remains of the castle, some very substantial, a lot accessible to be explored. As well as a well preserved barn and entrance to the main lawn area through a gate dating back 800 years.

Really nice castle, the chickens are quite friendly and followed me & my partner around quite strange being able to just wander around with nobody to guide/restrict our movements. But I got some nice pictures and we found Giant Hogweed, so a very worthwhile visit!!!!

What an incredible place to play some swing! A place of real character and lovingly kept. If you're in the area then you must visit, if you're not then take a day out..... you'll have to wait till next June for the jazz picnic though.

On a lovely sunny day a 4 star attraction for the views over the Usk valley and Usk itself. The castle was built in the 12th century by a Norman Frenchman and added to over the next 300 years. It fell into ruins half way through the 16th century. The castle is actually situated in somebody's garden. Entry is by donation and parking is free. Rest rooms are available in the castle grounds.

Privately owned so it’s really like going in someone’s yard. The garden is lovely and there are free roaming hens who are friendly. There is a rope swing (not the most comfortable but fun) and remnants of the Usk Castle. There’s a sign on the grounds that explains the background. It’s free but donations are requested. The only disturbing part was that someone placed a dead rabbit on top of the entryway area. Foxes probably got the rabbit.
