Bhaskar Vitthal Wada, located at Dandia Bazaar is known for it’s wooden pillars, huge entrnaces & ornate brackets. It was named after after Bhau Bhaskar Vitthal Khasgiwale, who built this beautiful wada, and it was the residence of them. They were the Dewan of Baroda State, during the rule of Govind Rao Gaekwad (1739-1800). Wada is made on majority of wood. It is said that the wada used to had 6 floors in olden time, but 3 floors were removed at that time, due to bad condition. Bhau Bhaskar Vitthal used to collect revenue ! Hathi Pol which is just behind the Wada, was named after Dewan’s elephants, as the elephants were stabled there. The wada was also used as School at one time, but due to poor condition of Wada, it was closed. The wada was also used as School at one time, but due to poor condition of Wada, it was closed. Currently the condition of Wada is very poor and needs attention & restoration. A part of Wada also felt 5 years ago.
