Got pulled over today. Allegedly doing 170kmh. The RCMP officer gave me a break and gave me a lesser fine. He could have impounded my car and kept me here for a week. Appreciate the community relations sir.

Great detachment with very helpful members!
Very aggressive speed reinforcement. Officer was polite, but trying to police a car going 120 in a 100 zone on a clear summer day, with no traffic, with trucks going over 100 is aggressive. A whole lot of Canada drives 20 over, and you know it. Making Valemount a center of aggressive police enforcement (just google for similar incidents) will only make it less attractive for tourism.
Very friendly and professional detachment, the kind of law enforcement you would want in your own town.
