Beautiful historic church in Downtown Valladolid. They wouldn't let visitors past red chain. Pigeons had the run of the vaulted ceilings.

Right on the square in beautiful, magical Valladolid, Mexico. Built in 1570. Beautiful in the day and also lit up at night.
Church of St Servatius was in 1703 the site of a murder of the former mayor. The viceroy made sure to execute the newly elected mayor for his involvement in the assassination. The bishop also ordered that the original church from 1545 be demolished. The beautiful church that stands here now is from 1705. Would love to stay some night in Valladolid and see it lit up in the evening. Read more about our trip in the Yucatan at amorfatitrips.com
A beautiful colonial church which stands out even more when the city is in lockdown and its surroundings are quiet.
Very beautiful church and a great stop before Merida!
Very pretty. Interesting history :)
Beautiful church, Tour bus should have given more time to explore this So, we stopped at cenote for 90 minutes but our tour bus gave us just 20 minutes to explore Valladolid and nearby areas, great...!! That why I recommend coming by yourself. No doubt church looks very beautiful from outside, but we did not have time, so we just roamed in central park, have churros and then came back. Central Park was full of people, warrior dressed guys, vendors. Streets were looking so beautiful, vibrant, colorful from the bus. We should have stayed here for longer time. I recommend visiting here. It is as vibrant as it can be
Currently closed but very beautiful.
